Gas projects

In May 2017, the Company launched a major project – an accompanying gas desulphurization plant at the Prorva field group. 150 mln. per year. works with a capacity of cubic meters. The installation is intended for the purification of associated gas in the group of Prorva deposits in the Zhylyoi region of Atyrau region.

At present, commercial gas from the facility is sent to the main gas pipeline “Central Asia – Central”, reducing the amount of gas released into the air in the Prorva field group. MERICHEM’s patented LO-CAT gas treatment technology used in the unit is environmentally safe and provides high efficiency of hydrogen sulfide removal. The process of gas preparation is fully automated and several stages are provided against emergency situations. Commercial gas, stable gas condensate – 4.1 thousand tons and granulated sulfur – 2.7 thousand tons are produced annually at the facility .

This facilities for the preparation of associated gas have been operating at the Company’s East Makat and S. Balgymbayev fields, providing residents of three districts of Atyrau region with natural gas at reduced prices.

The company intends to implement several additional gas projects. By launching the gas piston station construction project, the Company will significantly reduce production costs and increase electricity supply. Currently, it is planned to supply the gas-piston power station with 9.6 mW of electric power to the large areas of South East Kamysty and Zaburon of “Zhayikmunaygaz” MGEB on a pilot basis.

Another project is related to GTL technology. This project processes natural gas into high-quality products – diesel fuel, kerosene, synthetic motor oil.
